CTG Self-Education has been created for those seeking clarity rather than transparency.

This is a new initiative that will initially focus on Workplace Pensions. However, we are open to helping individuals to 'self-educate' in other business areas when there is sufficient demand.
Here are some ideas:

-
Those choosing to self-educate may wish to have their own 'Pensions Meetup' with others they already know and trust.
-
Please feel free to use any information that we provide; for clarity, CTG Self-Education should simply be a starting point.
-
We are making factsheets available to those who wish to self-educate, using infomation that is provided by Nest Corporation and others, all of which is publically available. (Be like us and verify; check the data yourself.)

Here is one Starting Point:

“Let’s discuss pensions! It will be fun!”
(We can meet in a cafe and all pay our own way.)
The Problem – lots of us avoid thinking about long term stuff like pensions, it can seem uncomfortable and complicated.
My Vision – let’s get together and talk about pensions! In a group we can share ideas about our long term financial planning.
It will be fun to encourage each other to discuss these topics. Let’s encourage each other to take ownership of learning about pensions.
No financial advice will be provided, my mission is to encourage everyone to learn more about the pensions in a friendly environment!
We will look at recent articles about planned changes to legislation that might affect pensions. Please bring any other pension related articles for us all to discuss and learn from.
We can learn from how other countries deal with pensions also.

Play by the Rules:

In December 2024, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) set out proposals for extra support for millions of UK savers to help them 'make better decisions about their pensions'.
-
We'd like to think that the FCA would be supportive of this CTG Self-Education initiative which encourages individuals to gain clarity and a better understand of what they already have, before they'make better decisions about their pensions'.
-
We are in favour of individuals having access to suitable professional advice. (We do not make recommendations and we do not encourage individuals to make changes; nor do we engage in transactions, so please don't ask us to do so.)
-
For clarity, we are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK, nor are we regulated by any financial services regulator anywhere in the world.
